What to Expect from SFLIG

SFLIG as an organization priorities the needs and comfort of our volunteers and we do our best to provide all the essential necessities that our volunteers will need to make them happy and secure.

Airport Pickup at Kotoka International Airport

Our representative will be at the airport arrival hall with a sheet of paper with volunteers name or the mode of identification discus before boarding flight.

Accommodation

Volunteers will stay with a host family that will be provided by SFLIG, which is very safe for volunteers and this will help them to adjust, adapt and know the Ghanaian culture and that of the community. Group volunteers stay together according to sex, couples stay together

Accommodation in hostels and dormitories are organise for volunteers of 4 groups upwards working on same or similar project or working at the same project site but each volunteer gets her own bed.

Food & Beverages

Host families are responsible for providing breakfast and dinner every day and sometimes lunch when volunteers are home in the afternoon therefore volunteers mostly go to the placement with pack snack. The foods served mainly local and sometimes continental with various fruits and vegetables. Volunteers are provided with well treated water which is purchased from certified producers of hygienically bottled or bagged water.

Volunteers with special dietary needs and allergies are given their preferred food that can be found locally

Volunteers should note that, spending money, additional food from restaurants, snacks, in-country trips and transport cost, excursions to tourist attractions and hotels they stay during their trips are at their own cost.
