My interests in this elective stems from a recent solitary trip to Ghana and Kenya. My volunteer experience took place in a hospital and orphanages. At the hospital in Ghana, I was able to gain a deeper knowledge of the complexity of health policies in third world countries. Funds raised by Touro students allowed for distribution of educational materials and shoes to orphanages in Accra and Kumasi.
